* * * * NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ————— (Published May 22, 2020 in Finance and Commerce) ————— The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing before its County Administration, Libraries and Budget Committee at 1:30 pm, or as soon as practicable, on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. The purpose of the hearing is to consider the proposal to issue (i) up to $200,000,000 in aggregate principal amount of general obligation bonds of the county for the purpose of financing capital improvement projects that are included in the county’s 2020-2024 Capital Improvement Program pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 373.40, subdivision 2(b); and (ii) up to $150,000,000 in aggregate principal amount of general obligation sales tax revenue bonds of the county for the purpose of financing transportation capital improvement projects that are included in the county’s 2020-2024 Capital Improvement Program and Sales and Use Transportation Tax Implementation Plan, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 297A.993, subdivision 4. The County Administrator has determined that in-person meetings are not practical or prudent because of the COVID-19 pandemic and declared state and local emergencies. Accordingly, the public hearing will be conducted via telephone and other electronic means as allowed under Minnesota Statutes, Section 13D.021. Interested persons may attend the public hearing by telephone conference by using the following instructions and all such persons shall be given an opportunity to express their views with respect to the proposal to issue the Bonds to finance the projects.
